Abstract
Traditional design methods face challenges in understanding embodied user experience in wearable and spatial interfaces. Design thinking is empathy-centered. Its practices may under-specify physical and sensory aspects of interaction in Information Systems contexts. This creates a methodological gap in the systematic embedding of embodied practices within IS design processes. This paper presents an integrated IS framework that combines design thinking with movement-based design through stage-level embedding. The framework draws on embodied cognition theory and an integrative literature review within a design science approach. It specifies integration mechanisms that translate experiential insight into traceable IS artifacts. It defines decision criteria for identifying when embodied integration provides methodological value. The contribution formalizes embodied integration as a structured design mechanism that strengthens requirement articulation and evaluation practices in embodied IS contexts.
