Abstract
The high prevelance of mental health problems and mental disorder in adolescence and young adulthood is now well established. A large national US comorbidity study revealed that half of all mental disorders emerge by 14 years of age and three quarters by 25 years of age (Kessler et al 2005). By the age of 21 years 51 % of young people will have experienced a diagnosable psychiatric disorder, and later onsets are mostly secondary conditions (Kessler et al 2007)
