Abstract

This paper outlines a research agenda an outcome of a study into ethics and regulation within
the Australian ICT industry. This research falls into three categories; those of immediate
concern or are foundational to other research, those of a long term nature, and those that are
ongoing. The specific subareas of each of these categories are: Foundational and Immediate;
a new integrity system, education, low profile of codes of ethics, and professionalism: Longer
Term; integrity system software: Ongoing; the state of the industry, ethical regulations,
technical and ethical tertiary education, and some generational differences.
