Abstract

This article, the fifth in a series about frailty, explores the different perspectives on the syndrome in Australia, Germany and the UK. There are differences between the countries; however, there are common themes linked to the complexities of systems that people with frailty must navigate and the importance of joined-up services that are responsive and attuned to people’s needs. Nurses, as members of interdisciplinary teams, have a key, skilled role in leading and planning care in partnership with older people with frailty. This should be underpinned by evidence-based knowledge and learning and embedded in person-centred ways of working.
