Abstract
The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists started 2009 with an updated Strategic Plan. The plan outlines the College’s main priorities and activities from 2009 to 2011. Extensive membership and external input into the development of the plan was undertaken in 2008, with a consultation session held at the 2008 RANZCP Congress, and feedback sought from various groups across the College. The end result is that the College now has clearly established purposes, values and priorities to achieve over the next three years. The College’s vision statement sets the scene for the overall plan: ‘‘A fellowship of psychiatrists working with and for the general community to achieve the best attainable quality of psychiatric care and mental health.’’
