Abstract

This chapter discusses the cyberattacks in the health care sector. The health care sector is now embracing plethora of newer technologies and, eventually, producing a huge amount of data. Due to the advancement in information technology, the health care sector embraced lot of smart medical devices.n Robots are widely used in a variety of application domains; therefore, health care is also enjoying the benefits of robots to operate complex tasks. Patient monitoring devices are popular nowadays due to the remote monitoring facility provided to the physicians. These devices are used to execute a number of health care tasks, such as identification of arrhythmias, diabetes. In a health care facility, building controls system is responsible for monitoring and operating equipment, such as air conditioning, carbon dioxide, noise levels. Insider threats are emerging types of attacks as it has been found in the last few years that the legitimate users of the health care facilities are being exploited by the cyber criminals.
