Abstract

We thank Drs Oliveira, Maher, and Pinto for their comments regarding “Physiotherapist-Led Physical Activity Interventions Are Efficacious at Increasing Physical Activity Levels: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.” We appreciate the opportunity to respond to the points raised and hope their letter helps focus attention on the important topic of physical activity promotion. Our review examined the efficacy of physiotherapist-led physical activity interventions at improving physical activity levels of people attending private practice or outpatient physiotherapy clinics. Only 8 studies of individuals with a musculoskeletal injury or a risk factor for a noncommunicable disease (ie, obesity) were identified. This limitation of the published literature can only be addressed by more original scientific studies.
