Abstract
Following politics in recent years has been a little like watching a kettle of water come to a boil. You begin to see the transparent surface move about restlessly, you see a glimpse of steam evaporating. You know it is going to happen. And – finally – the bubbles come up, and there is no question about it: some kind of transformation is under way and water is turning into steam. In 2016, it seemed something like this happened.
