Abstract

"Report Generation" in general brings added value to Information Management Systems with no exception to Institutional repositories. In this paper, we describe IR2gT, a report generation tool for Institutional repositories. Taken from an academic perspective, one of the main reasons for this development was to generate reports based on individual authors and contribution period in an Institutional repository. Our plan was to achieve this report generation based on data extracted from DSpace [1] Institutional repository and present this grouped by various custom filter options such as author, contribution period, and summarized reports. The motivation for this project was based on feedback received from the academic community at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore during an Institutional repository presentation. In-addition, this project proposal was accepted and completed as part of Google Summer of Code (GSOC) program and was released under open source policy norms [2].
