Abstract

Given the uncertainty of the global economic and political outlook and the associated challenges, there is confidence that the ten member-nations of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) are transitioning toward effective economic integration. This research project aims to evaluate of the preparedness and opportunities with respect to Small to Medium Entities (SMEs) within the ASEAN region and how accounting profession could contribute to the empowerment of SMEs in ASEAN.
