    Abstract

Lecturers in teaching colleges such as Batchelor Institute often use language in the classroom that is foreign to their students. The use of foreign language can result in the loss of attention and confusion, and can have a huge effect on students' progress. It may even cause students to drop out or at least reduce their employment opportunities.
