Materiality Matters

If Only for the Look of it!

Research output: A Conference proceeding or a Chapter in BookChapter

Abstract

The systematic industrial process, which converts the raw material into immediately available building material begins, with iron, at a much earlier stage than with previously existing building materials. Between matter and materials, in this case, there is a relationship quite different from that between stone and ashlar, clay and tile, timber and beam.
