Abstract

This paper analyses the politics of female body in Pakistan exploring how women's "bodies" are used to deny them rights. It traces the history of such discourses from British colonial times to the present day Pakistan. It examines the changes that have taken place since 9/11 and the paradoxical impact of feminist movement and backlash from Islamists.
