Abstract

This chapter introduces a new model of occupational therapy practice reasoning by reconstructing existing knowledge and scholarly work in the area. Through a case-based format, the chapter proposes a model that describes the practice reasoning process that occurs in occupational therapy, influenced by well-accepted conceptual models, practice process frameworks, and guiding factors. While the model draws upon existing literature in the area, it advances thinking about the practice reasoning process by reconceptualizing the way it is influenced by multiple guiding factors.
