Abstract

Teachers and early childhood educators face new challenges as mental health promotion initiatives are increasingly introduced into schools and early childhood education and care centres. This chapter draws upon extant theoretical frameworks and recent Australian research to identify the essential components of high quality professional education for staff. An emergent conceptual model is proposed that captures elements not identified in previous work.
