Abstract

This book analyses the variety of institutions through which collective social decisions are made, concentrating particularly on the problem of ecology. The various arrangements - markets, bureaucracies, laws etc. are evaluated for their capacity for intelligent decision making in environmental concerns. Proposals for improving on the world's social choice mechanisms are elaborated. -M.Cawkwell
