Review of Ana Aliverti, Policing the Border Within

Research output: Contribution to journalBook/Film/Article review

Abstract

In Policing the Borders Within Ana Aliverti directs her keen analytical lens onto the policing of migration in Britain. Her previous research monograph Crimes of Mobility (Aliverti, 2013) made a unique contribution to our understanding of immigration enforcement, exploring the operation of crimmigration law from the vantage point of criminal courts. In her second book, Aliverti shifts her gaze towards earlier steps in the process, exploring the role of British police and immigration officials in enforcing, indeed creating, what she calls ‘the border within.’
