Abstract
The search for an epistemology of art has become an important undertaking for art philosophers and art curriculum developers in recent decades. The intermingling, and subsequent interrelationship, of 'art', 'visual culture'', 'popular culture', and a general globalization, removing social, cultural and psychological distances, has meant that art theorists and educators have been forced to reconsider and perhaps broaden their notion of 'art'.
