    Abstract

A collaborative poem that responds to Henry Lawson's 'Popular Australian Mistakes', considering the way its colonial writing of the land and people persist in the present through damage of Country, people and community. The poem uses Barkindji and concepts and language, and those of connected language groups, to activate and re-sing older and more site-appropriate relationships of language and place.
