Abstract
For many of us, when we think of robotics, we conjure concepts from television and movies (such as R2-D2 and C-3PO from Star Wars TM), or think of intricate tools used in manufacturing, devices far too complex for use with young children. Programmable toys are much simpler tools, ideal for use with children. This chapter focuses on simple robotics and coding as tools for early learning in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
