School curricula are contested spaces of nationalism that socialize students into society and teach a certain set of morals, ethics, and history. But what version of the nation is articulated in school? More importantly, whose version is it? These questions are at the heart of the relationship between the project of mass schooling and the formation of nationalism in state governing apparatuses.i.
