Abstract

The debate about pharmacists prescribing beyond S2s and S3s has been revving up for the past few years. On this issue Australian pharmacists are well behind developments in the UK and US. Dr Greg Kyle and Associate Professor Lisa Nissen from the School of Pharmacy, University of Queensland, have both been involved in research on pharmacist prescribing. Here they discuss the Australian debate and outline the situation with pharmacist prescribing overseas.
