Abstract

Introduction: Critical care nurses are at risk of burnout and compassion fatigue due to their stressful and often traumatic roles. Recent research revealed that Australian critical care nurses have only average levels of compassion satisfaction; high levels would better ensure nurse wellbeing, workforce retention and high-quality patient care.
