Abstract

To the layman the mention of forensic science conjures up images of a ‘Quincy’ like character, dealing with bodies and assisting in the investigation of crime. The word forensic, in fact, simply means pertaining to the law or courts, and thus forensic science is the application of scientific method to the examination of items in matters both civil and criminal.
