N2 - Hybrid agile approach involves combining both agile and non-agile techniques in managing projects within organizations. While hybrid agile is an emerging approach that is gaining popularity, its nature is not well-defined, and there is limited research on the outcomes of this approach in areas such as project success, people skills, and IT project management. This study aims to address these gaps by developing a conceptual framework and conducting case studies to examine hybrid agile from various perspectives. The findings suggest that the hybrid agile approach is more effective than pure agile due to its flexibility in utilizing a variety of approaches, frameworks, and practices while also addressing both internal and external success measures. The study also highlights the importance of people culture and an agile mindset in building effective teams. By leveraging the flexibility of the hybrid agile approach, organizations can tailor their project management strategies to meet their specific needs. The proposed conceptual framework can be applied to evaluate any project management approach and offer insights to overcome challenges within organizations.
