Abstract
Other than at election time, the institutions of representative democracy do not seem designed to maximise citizen input and inclusion into formal decision-making. We particularly need to think about how to improve the inclusion and representation of young people in formal politics. Can democratic innovations help to address the widening disconnect between young people’s political engagement and formal politics?
