Why it matters: the role of academia in international development

This paper argues that International Development Studies is trans-disciplinary in nature, even though various disciplines continue to use the term in a variety of contexts. It explores the development of this discipline from a pedagogical perspective stressing the need for a closer examination of the current pedagogical practices.
