Abstract

The tectonic plates of Australian politics shifted at the 2022 federal election. A genderquake changed the face of Australian politics in a single election, turfing a tired, blokey, old government from office.

The surge of quality female candidates, many of them complete political novices, was a big factor in the Morrison government’s downfall.
